The very best adventure gear taken to the most amazing of places

Merrell 1trl and Corridor have announced a new collaboration with a rugged, performance-focused shoe.

Brooklyn-based Corridor focuses on ‘lovingly made’ clothing and has been creating pieces as an independent brand since it was founded in 2013. Its current collection focuses on seasonal colours and rugged yet comfortable materials with a natural feel.

This new collaboration, called the Moab Winter Moc, presents a blend of both firms’ ideals in a shoe which brings a hiking-inspired sole that can bring enough support for longer journeys, yet with a slip-on design that’ll make it easy to wear on day-to-day basis.

There’s a neoprene stretch collar to make putting the shoes on and off even easier, while the upper also incorporates Corridor’s signature branding and a handy heel loop. Inside, there’s a neoprene lining and a recycled mesh footbed cover which provides additional comfort while still maintaining a sustainable ethos. This is combined with an EVA footbed for additional cushioning – though this can be removed if required – and it’s made from 50 per cent recycled materials, too.

Underneath you’ll find a Merrell Air Cushion in the heel for extra shock absorption and comfort alongside a lightweight EVA foam midsole. To help when walking over difficult terrain there’s a Merrell rubber outsole with Vibram technology which should ensure a good deal of traction regardless of the conditions.

Corridor’s designer and founder Dan Snyder said: “The shoe is made to fit our active lifestyles in a way that integrates with the clothes – in a natural suede and an easy brown sole. We hope that these useful shoes help make your life more comfortable and easy; and that you wear them out.”

The new Moab Winter Moc is set to be released initially via Corridor’s website today (October 25) ahead of a wider global release on Friday, November 1.
