Luxury performance wear creator Real has teamed up with famed boxing glove creator Signor Filippo Lecesse Di Nardo to create a new high-end jacket. 

Di Nardo, who is described as ‘the Godfather of boxing gloves’, started out as a tailor in Turin, Italy, but switched to creating handmade boxing gloves in 2006. Since then, he has fashioned some of the most sought-after gloves in the industry, with pairs often retailing for well over £500. 

Now, Real, which is inspired by boxers and has a range of clothing which combines technical elements with more upmarket materials and finishes, has collaborated with Di Nardo on a new jacket which ‘explores the intersection between modern performance and function’. It also marks the first time that Di Nardo has worked on a non-boxing glove product.

The Eminence jacket, priced at £395, utilises an Italian-woven ripstop fabric which blends polyamide, elastane and carbon to provide excellent strength while remaining super-soft. It also means that those wearing it have a great range of movement – such as when training. 

However, an inner mesh lining given an antibacterial finish should ensure it doesn’t hang on to changing room odours, while this lightweight inner material helps to wick away moisture as well. 

Each jacket gets a full-length YKK zip with a sports-style rubber puller, alongside two hand pockets and one internal pocket for those more valuable items. The Eminence also gets the Di Nardo logo – and Real’s brand icon – applied to the left chest of the jacket.
