Merrell is shifting into its new autumn/winter collection with a fresh take on its Agility Peak 6 hiking shoe.
Called ‘Coastal Currents’, the new season draws inspiration from – you guessed it – the sea, ‘where kelp, stone and scaled lifeforms shift in colour and texture as they move between environments.’

Leading this new design take is a redesigned version of the brand’s Agility Peak 6, now wearing a striking tortoiseshell colourway.
Launching the new shoe is artist Charles Auguste, who is seen travelling through natural and urban terrain as he makes his way between the coastline and Marseille’s Parc Sévigné. Auguste is best-known for his multi-disciplinary approach to art, and has previously blended together arts with elements of visual performance.
In reflection of this, the Merrell 1TRL Agility Peak 6 has retained a space in the brand’s range as a multi-tool shoe, able to tackle days in the city as easily as hikes up difficult terrain. The current version gets a full forefoot rocker plate to protect against impacts, alongside a FloatPro midsole for shock absorption and energy recovery.

Underneath, there’s a Vibram MegaGrip outsole with large lugs designed to key into the surface underneath and provide the best possible traction.
It’s good news if this shoe sounds right for you – it has launched today (August 6) across Merrell websites and at ‘select wholesale partners’.
