Berghaus is looking to fill the gap between a traditional hiking pack and a lightweight running vest with its new Fast Hike 15.

Priced at £120, the Fast Hike 15 weighs just 481g, making it the ideal solution for walkers or hikers who want to bring kit with them without feeling bogged down. Using an updated version of the Berghaus Limpet compression system, the Fast Hike 15 should bring top-notch stability and remain bounce-free even over tricky surfaces. 

Plus, the Fast Hike is being launched in either women’s or men’s setups, with tailored designs for each helping them to bring the best possible comfort. The women’s backpack, for instance, features a female-specific harness contoured around the chest, while the men’s has a vest harness designed for broader shoulders. 

In addition, it gets a water-resistant opening to help keep your belongings as dry as possible, while a quick-access cord and cinch system means you shouldn’t have to slow down when you need to grab something in a hurry.

There’s an external water-resistant pocket for valuables, too, and a zipped expansion chest bottle pocket. There are dedicated pockets for Z-poles, too. Berghaus also says that the Fast Hike 15 is hydration system compatible. 

In terms of materials, you’re looking at a blend of polyester and nylon, which should prove to be pretty hard-wearing.
