Finisterre is drawing attention to the much-needed connection between forests and oceans in a new capsule collection.
The ‘No Trees No Seas’ campaign has been created in partnership with Plant One, a Cornish Community Interest Company which is dedicated to bringing woodlands back to their former glory through several programmes and initiatives across the South West.

The new campaign is meant to showcase the concept of a ‘flowscape’ with a single system linking forests, rivers, estuaries and oceans.
Sam Manning, forest ecologist and environmental writer, said: “For too long, forests and oceans have been treated as separate systems but in reality, they are part of a single living flowscape where nutrients, water, and life move continuously between land and sea.”

The campaign draws inspiration from Manning’s translation of the Japanese text ‘If The Forest Dies, The Sea Dies’ and highlights the endangered Atlantic temperate rainforest which is found in small areas of Cornwall. With the partnership with Finisterre, Plant One is aiming to restore 500 hectares of coastal woodland over the next five years. Finisterre has pledged a donation each year for the next three years, too.
To help boost the message, Finisterre has created a limited capsule t-shirt collection bearing the No Trees, No Seas slogan alongside a number of eye-catching graphics. They’re applied to soft, regenerative cotton and get a carbon-brushed finish for a high-quality feel.
The t-shirts are available both in-store and via the Finisterre website now.
