Adidas Terrex has broadened its Freehiker range with two new models.
Things kick off with the Freehiker SL Climacool, a lightweight hiking shoe that is designed to ‘move seamlessly from city streets to summer trails’. It builds on the existing Freehiker range with a more ventilated setup with larger areas of mesh to help boost airflow.

Priced at £110, the Freehiker SL Climacool has a perforated OrthoLite sockliner for improved ventilation and a Dreamstrike midsole for enhanced comfort. Underneath, and as with much of the Terrex shoe range, you’ve got a Continental sole for extra traction in all conditions.
However, if the summer weather starts to look particularly British, then it could be the Freehiker SL Gore-Tex that’ll prove to be a better choice. Priced at £130 and available in three colourways – Earth Strata/Beige/Pure Teal, Core Black/Grey Six/Grey Six and Wonder Beige/Cloud White/Beige – the Freehiker SL Gore-Tex gets a Dreamstrike midsole, while underneath there’s a chunky Continental outsole for improved traction.

Adidas says that both shoes have a regular fit, though, in our experience, it could be worth going up by half a size over your regular sizing to get the right setup.
Both shoes are available in both women’s and men’s sizings, with a broad range of colourways there to provide an option for all types of wearers. The Gore-Tex models are available on the Adidas website now, though we expect the Climacool versions to be added shortly.
