Specialized is looking to make your gravel times even quicker with the new S-Works Crux 5.
Billed as the ‘fastest gravel bike ever made’, the new Crux 5 arrives with a featherweight design that aims to make it as focused and responsive over rough ground as possible.

Specialized says that it has taken learnings from its Tarmac SL8 for the Crux 5, finessing this race bike’s tubing to ensure that each angle and component is as refined as possible. In fact, the Crux 5 comes in at just 789g for the frame, while complete builds start from 6.9kg, making this a very lightweight bike.
The net result of this is a quicker bike overall, and Specialized says that the new Crux 5 is now up to 9:58 quicker over the Unbound Gravel section in Emporia, Kansas, than the older Crux 4.
The brand says that even when equipped with Tera Aero CLX III wheels and a full aero setup, the Crux 5 only tips the scales at 7.1kg. The Crux 5 also boasts 55mm of tyre clearance for chunkier off-road rubber, while a standard Power Pro w/Mirror saddle setup should help to bring added comfort for those longer days.

In S-Works trim, the Crux 5 comes as standard with Terrar Aero CL wheels, SRAM DUB BB and stainless headset bearings and a full Red AXS XPLR groupset.
Prices for the new Specialized Crux 5 start at £3,999 for the Comp, rising to £11,999 for the range-topping S-Works.
