Bristol-based cycling apparel brand Kostüme has partnered with artist Adam Ball for a limited-edition collection.
Limited to just 350 pieces worldwide, the new collection uses a print which is taken directly from a print created by Ball for Kostüme. Taking inspiration from ‘nature, organic flows and dynamic forms, ’ the print aims to mirror the circular motions that you’ll find on a bicycle.

However, alongside this artistic approach, you’ll find a range of fully technical fabrics and features used across the range. The Cargo Gilet, for instance, uses high-tech Polartec Power Shield RPM fabric, a high-performance membrane-based technology designed to offer protection when things get wet outside.
Kostüme says that particular focus has been put on ‘how the colours and lines translate to high-stretch materials’, too.
Speaking at the launch, Ball said: “I wanted the artwork that I created for Kostüme to feel dynamic. For that cyclical, circular motion and flurry of movement to be evident when the cyclist wears it”.
The collection, which includes a short and long sleeve cargo jersey and a sleeveless and long sleeve base layer, will drop tomorrow (May 1) at midday and will only be available for 10 days. Once sold, it won’t be restocked or reproduced – so get in while you can.

Ed Bartlett, Kostüme’s founder, said: “This collaboration with Adam runs much deeper than the visual artwork, because we share a history together, and also an ethos. His process, like ours, means he creates very few works each year, making each one extremely special. And, faced with taking the easy route or the longer – but ultimately more rewarding – direction, he will always choose the latter.
“We’ve spent a huge amount of time and care discussing, producing and finessing this collection that far outweighs anything that came before, and I could not be prouder of the results”
