Finisterre is leaning into seafaring heritage with a new boot designed in collaboration with Xtratuf.
Xtratuf was founded more than 75 years ago for seagoers in Alaska, providing hard-wearing and rugged workwear ever since. Now, it has partnered with the UK’s Finisterre to create a new version of the iconic deck boot.

Essentially an upgraded version of Xtratuf’s Ankle Deck Boot, the new shoe incorporates a range of upgrades and tweaks to make this rough-and-tough shoe a little more luxurious.
Available in black and woodsmoke colourways, the 100 per cent waterproof deck boot is crafted from 2mm natural rubber and gets a recycled top cover and liner made from a seawool knit. This material uses recycled oyster shell content and even gets an anti-microbial treatment for a fresher feel.

A. Todd, head of design at Finisterre, said, “Sometimes you don’t have to look too far to find the perfect collaborator. In this instance, it was as simple as looking at our own feet. Accompanying us on our surf checks, beach cleans, rock-pooling adventures, and every sudden downpour, it was XTRATUF who felt like a natural partner for Finisterre.
At either side of the boot, you’ll find recycled yarn webbing pull loops, while underneath sits a BioLite injected moulded footbed crafted from durable EVA foam. Most importantly, the outsole has a slip-resistant design created to keep you stable even when you’re walking on the greasiest of decks. Finisterre recommends going up a full size to get the perfect fit, too.
Available to purchase via Finisterre and Xtratuf websites, the deck boots are also available in select UK stores from today (March 3) and are priced at £120.
