Peak Performance has announced its latest addition to its insulated jacket range – the Monolight.
Designed for year-round use, the Monolight is pitched as an outer layer or for underneath a shell jacket. As we’ve come to expect from Peak Performance, the brand has aimed to keep bulk down with the Monolight, utilising synthetic Primaloft ThermX insulation to maximise heat retention without increasing weight too much.

On the outside, you’ve got a recycled ripstop material that will help to defend against the wind. Peak Performance says that it’ll fend off ‘light snow and rain’ though, as with all insulated jackets, don’t expect the Monolight to keep you dry in a downpour. The brand also says that the jacket comes with ripstop patches that can help to make repairs easy should a section get damaged.
Available in both women’s and men’s fit, the Monolight has been designed with a monomaterial construction which ensures that it can be recycled once the jacket reaches the end of its life.
You’ve got two zippered hand pockets, too, and the whole jacket can be packed into an inner pocket when you need to take it with you. There’s a full front zipper design, too, with an exaggerated chinguard to help keep out the cold and reduce friction at the collar.

In classic Peak Performance style, there aren’t too many loud-and-proud badges, wth some subtle embroidery on the chest instead. You also get a hangar loop at the back.
Priced at £220, the new Monolight is available in a variety of colourways via the Peak Performance website right now – go check it out.
