There are few occasions where a good blanket won’t come in handy. Whether it’s a break from the cold on a windy day or a last-minute drop in front of the television, pretty much everyone needs a do-it-all blanket on hand to make things cosier.
That’s where VOITED comes in. It has created its CloudTouch blanket to be, well, a blanket – but a lot more on top. With an ability to transform into a pillow, a sleep sack or even a cape, the CloudTouch could be there for those who want to elevate their blanket game with something stylish and made from eco-friendly materials. Is it trying too hard to be all things to all people, though? We’ve been testing the CloudTouch out.

What does the VOITED Cloudtouch have to offer?
It might look like a regular blanket, but the VOITED Cloudtouch has been designed to take things further. Inkeeping with the rest of the brand’s styling, you’ll find that the CloudTouch is available in a vast array of colours, with our ‘Originals’ colourway looking particularly good. Don’t worry, there are more understated shades to choose from if you’re after something a little more subtle.

The CloudTouch has a three-layer construction, with a warmth-boosting 3D Featherlight Fibre sandwiched between two layers of recycled Ripstop Repreve material. This outer skin has been given water and stain-resistance treatment, too, so it should fend off those odd spillages – we’ve found that it’s pretty resistant to dirt during our time with it. It’s all machine washable, too, though VOITED doesn’t recommend tumble-drying, so you’ll need to hang it out instead.

Then, there’s that all-important brushed CloudTouch material, which has a super-soft feeling to it. In total, this blanket measures in at 137cm wide and 203cm long, meaning that even taller people should be able to get comfy in it. On several corners, you’ll find reinforced poppers and these are key to transforming the blanket to suit its various uses. These poppers also mean that, in theory, you could connect multiple VOITED blankets to transform them into something much, much larger. It could prove handy with people who’ve got a bigger space to cover.
Using – what is the VOITED Cloudtouch like?
Straight out of the box, the CloudTouch feels like a premium thing. That three-layer construction gives it a durable impression right from the start and the brushed material only adds to that. It’s actually not too heavy, either, but more substantial than your typical single-layer blanket, that’s for sure.

It might sound odd to find multiple uses for a blanket right away, but that’s just what happened with the CloudTouch. From a sofa throw to a much-needed protective sheet in the car, it’s got loads of great options. The poppers have a very solid feel to them, too, and it’s easy to snap together different areas of the blanket after you’ve done a little bit of working out.
Is it a genuine alternative to a typical sleeping bag? Not quite. The poppers come together nicely, but you’re still left with gaps in between that let the cold air in. However, VOITED doesn’t really compare this blanket to your typical sleeping bag and we wouldn’t recommend that you do either. However, for getting extra cosy on the sofa, it’s a really neat feature and definitely adds an extra layer of usability to the blanket.

It’s also super-useful that you can fold it all up and pack the blanket away into a pillow shape when you need it out of the way for a bit. Like a typical stuff sack, it takes a bit of practice, but before long, it’ll become second nature.
What about the durability? Well, on first impressions, things seem very good indeed. The stitching on the sides is thorough and rugged and that brushed material actually helps the blanket to feel more robust overall. So far, we’ve found that the CloudTouch shrugs off lighter stains too, and the odd tipped-over glass of water really isn’t going to phase it. It’s also useful to be able to bung it in the washing machine when you need to – particularly if a dog decides to jump on and find out how comfy this blanket is for themselves. On the subject of four-legged friends – VOITED also offers a dog-friendly version of this blanket instead.
It would be useful to be able to put the CloudTouch into the tumble dryer, but we’ve found that the main materials used dry out quickly anyway. In the summertime, we can’t see the CloudTouch taking much time to dry at all when put out on the line.
At 1,630g, the VOITED CloudTouch feels like a good compromise on weight – it’s heavy enough to feel cosy when you’re under it, but not so heavyweight that it’s a pain to transport. Once packed away, you can easily fit the CloudTouch into a rucksack, and it’s the perfect size to throw in the boot of the car when you’re heading out.
To finish
You’d think that it would be hard to get excited about a blanket, but the VOITED CloudTouch flies in the face of this. It’ll come in handy during all sorts of scenarios and could prove to be a great item to bring along when you want a sense of home out on the road.
While it won’t be a direct replacement for your traditional sleeping bag, the CloudTouch is a great addition to your kit list and one which will look stylish wherever you use it.
