The very best adventure gear taken to the most amazing of places

It’s a common question to ask – ‘what do I get that for that certain someone in my life that loves adventure?’. Here at The Gear Sphere, we’ve had a busy 2025 testing some of the very best outdoor gear and tech, but which should you choose as the ideal Christmas gift this festive season?

In this guide, we’re going to check out a variety of gifts at a series of price points. The good news is that they’re all ideal for those who love adventure and the great outdoors. Let’s dive in and find out.

New Balance 6 Panel Athletics Structured hat – £22

NB Panel Hat
The 6 panel cap has lots of retro touches

A good cap will always come in handy and New Balance has got one that really looks the part. The 6 Panel Athletics Structured hat has that retro-inspired look which is bang on trend at the moment, and, at £22, it isn’t going to break the bank either.

Available in a series of colourways, the 6 Panel gets New Balance’s iconic logo and some seriously 80s-inspired graphics to go with it.

Yeti Cayo – from £200

Yeti Cayo
The Cayo has been designed for all types of uses

Yeti is best known for its range of no-nonsense coolers, but it also has a great range of backpacks which prove to be an ideal gift this Christmas. We’re big fans of the new Cayo, which brings a rugged construction with a weather-resistant finish that can fend off the elements.

Available in a series of capacities, the Cayo is also available in either black or a classic-looking Olive shade.

Sweaty Betty Nimbus Cloud Gilet – £195

Keep the cold away with Sweat Betty’s Nimbus gilet

There are still plenty of cold months to come and a padded gilet can help to take some of the chill away. Though best-known for its activewear, Sweaty Betty has a great-looking gilet to check out this Christmas, but with a down filling, it’s got that heat-keeping tech to hand as well.

Handwarmer pockets seal the deal and the exterior has a water-resistant finish to help in a sudden downpour.

Canyon Citylite – from £1,449

Canyon Citylite
The Citylite has been designed for the urban environment

If you’re feeling extra generous this Christmas, then the gift of Canyon’s new Citylite could go down a treat. It’s the brand’s latest urban-focused model and one which comes packed with features that can help it to carve through the city or town.

It’s even got an internal hub setup matched with a hassle-free belt system to help keep maintenance worries to a minimum.

Danner Inquire Winter – £190

Danner’s Inquire Winters get PrimaLoft insulation

A solid set of winter boots can be a very useful Christmas gift, and we’d be heading in the direction of Danner’s Inquire Winter if this sounds good to you. As with all Danner boots, the Inquire Winters get a super-rugged construction, but this is matched with PrimaLoft insulation to help make these boots as cosy as possible in cold weather.

There’s a full-grain leather upper, too, while a Vibram Icetrek outsole can help to bring additional traction when you’re walking over slippery surfaces.

Buff EcoStretch Neckwear – £17.95

Buff neckwear
A range of artists created distinctive designs for Buff pieces

Buff is one of the go-to brands in the world of warming neckware and the EcoStrech remains one of its core models. It’s ideal for a variety of uses, too, from a draught-excluding neckerchief to a handy form of headware.

Recently, Buff partnered with a series of artists for its ‘Blank Canvas’ collection, so if you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this could fit the bill.

Peak Performance Mountain Hat – £40

Peak Performance Mountain Hat
Keep warm with the Mountain Hat this Christmas

We’re big fans of Peak Performance’s range of warmth-boosting jackets, but its headware collection is also well worth checking out. The Mountain Hat stands out during Christmas time, not only for its peak-inspired design but also for its wool-blend construction.

With a classic fold-up design, the Mountain Hat is one that anyone would want to wear come Boxing Day and beyond.

Darn Tough Hiker Micro Crew Midweight Hiking Socks – £29

Darn Tough socks
Darn Tough’s socks are made to a high standard with Merino wool

What would Christmas be without socks? But far from cartoon-covered pair, these Micro Crew Midweight Hiking socks from Darn Tough will actually prove useful in a variety of settings. With a performance fit, they’re designed to avoid slipping or bunching, while a Merino Wool construction will help to keep your feet free from moisture.

These socks in particular are multi-weather ones, so you should be sorted over winter, into spring and beyond.

Blundstone 1911 – £165

Blundstone Boots
Blundstone has a broad range of boots to choose from

A pair of Blundstones is the kind of Christmas gift that’ll last for decades to come. The 1911 boots are part of the Original’s series, giving a more traditional look and feel through an unlined design and a slightly narrower fit. We’re big fans of the ‘Tobacco’ colourway, which feels like it would go with any outfit, no matter where you are.

You could, of course, opt for the Classics series if you’re after a more cushioned feel for the person you’re buying for.

Sealskinz Harling – £55

Sealskinz Gloves
Sealskinz Harling gloves are here to keep your hands warm and dry

Much like socks, gloves are that tried-and-tested Christmas gift big-hitter. One of the best-known brands in the glove world is Sealskinz and if you’re looking for an all-rounder from this brand, check out the Harling.

It’s a waterproof all-weather glove with Aquasealz technology and a grippy palm for extra traction in the wet. They’re available in either black or olive, too.
