Franco-Japanese brand Topologie has kicked off its UK-based presence with a new store in the heart of London’s East End. 

The brand – which draws its inspiration from rock climbing and implements this in a variety of accessories such as straps, phone cases and bags – had yet to set up shop in the UK, having already established flagship sites in core locations such as Paris, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. Originally founded by rock climbing enthusiast Carlos Granon, Topologie aims to ‘bring the authentic climber spirit’ into every product it makes. 

However, though its origins may lie in the rugged crags of the mountains, Topologie’s current range aims to bring that to more urban landscapes as well. 

Located on Dray Walk, Shoreditch, the new London store ‘will showcase the full range of products and customisable possibilities’, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with Topologie’s latest items. 

The brand’s ‘Wares System’ allows buyers to configure, swap and change between over 1,000 product combinations through its bags, straps and accessories. Look out for eye-catching pieces such as the electric purple and neon yellow bag range, or the more understated Musette Medium bag which comes in an undercover black shade. 

Topologie recently collaborated with French lifestyle brand Maison Kitsune, too, creating a dedicated range of items with a unique flavour to them. 

The new store takes on a similarly stripped-back aesthetic to its other sites, with scaffold-style structures being used to display what the brand has to offer. Topologie says that the location ‘is placed perfectly to meet the needs of long-distance travellers and urban commuters equally’.
