Vans has released a new rugged addition to its footwear line-up – the MTE Crosspath.
Arriving in both regular and higher-cut Crosspath Mid designs, the new shoe draws a lot of inspiration from Vans’ range of skate shoes but adds in a more robust construction that equips it to go off the beaten track. In our full review, you’ll be able to find out even more, too.

With an upper crafted from 100 per cent recycled PET and reinforced with abrasion-resistant panelling, the Vans Crosspath also has a seamless Rapidweld construction which should help it to fend off wet weather. It’s all covered in a non-PFC water-repellent finish, too.
Underneath, there’s a new grip design for the Vans Crosspath which is ‘sturdier’ than those on previous MTE models, with this All-Trac outsole having been designed completely from scratch for the Crosspath. The material it is made from is taken ‘from farms utilising agricultural practices that are intended to promote biodiversity, enhance water cycles, improve soil health, and/or sequester carbon.’

The midsole is made with ‘at least’ 50 per cent biobased EVA foam to help create a cushioning experience – but one which has a greener side, too. The Vans Crosspath Mid version, meanwhile, brings a higher collar height which aids with stability and provides more ankle support – so it could be a better option for those who are tackling more challenging climbs.
The outside of the shoe also displays hallmark Vans styling touches, including the brand’s logos on side tabs, MTE badges on the heels and ‘X’ designs on the soles.
Available in a variety of colourways – including an eye-catching green shade – the Crosspath arrives priced at £125, or £135 for the Mid version.
