Specialized has made its already lightweight Crux gravel bike even sharper with a new S-Works version.
The S-Works Crux now benefits from the same learnings applied to the Specialized Aethos, which results in a featherlight 725g carbon frame but one which still incorporates 47c/650b x 2.1” tyre clearance.

With race-inspired geometry, the S-Works Crux is designed to be ‘nimble, supple and reactive’, according to Specialized, while it now comes equipped with SRAM’s RED XPLR system with a 13-speed cassette, integrated power meter and more hand-friendly shift levers. The new brake calipers are said to reduce overall braking effort by up to 80 per cent, too. Even the S-Works SL stem gets ultra-lightweight titanium bolts for extra weight shedding.
At each end, you’ve got Roval Terra CLX II wheels shod in Pathfinder Pro tyres and matching Terra bars, while a featherlight Alpinist seat post and an S-Works Power saddle with Mirror technology complete the package

Available in sizes ranging from 49 to 61, the new S-Works Crux is available – for now – with just one colourway, bringing a mix of ‘Gloss Cypress Metallic’ and ‘Viavi’ for a very nature-friendly-looking design overall.
Here in the UK, this new lightweight Crux will set you back £11,400 – considerably more than the £7,000 you’ll pay for a Crux Pro. But you can’t put a price on lightness, right?
