Specialized has created a new saddle which it says will deliver ‘superior performance and comfort’.
The new S-Works Phenom with Mirror has a concave shape and a carbon shell, while at its heart sits Specialized’s Mirror 3D printprint which incorporates 20,055 struts and 8,735 nodes to allow extra flex within the saddle print itself.

More travel means more comfort while bringing a 28 per cent reduction in sit bone pressure when put up against a traditional foam-covered saddle. Essentially, Mirror creates a ‘hammock’ that you sit on, making things much comfier when compared to a ‘normal’ saddle.
Specialized says that the S-Works Phenom’s shape ensures that riders can get into a spot-on position for power and comfort, allowing them to stay in the ideal shape for whichever type of riding position they’re in. Underneath the saddle sits carbon rails and a carbon shell which help the Phenom to deliver a super low total weight of just 223g.

The Phenom sits between the Power and Romin EVO saddles as a go-between, delivering a compromise between the ‘locked in sensation’ of the former and the more traditional latter.
Kasper Asgreen, Soudal Quick-Step rider, said: “I feel so lucky that I was able to help develop the S-Works Phenom Mirror hand in hand with the Specialized Saddle Team. I love how tunable Mirror technology is – combined with the vibration absorption and comfort of Mirror – it’s the most comfortable saddle I’ve ridden in my 14 years of racing. I look forward to many more years on this saddle.”
The new S-Works Phenom will come in two widths – 143mm and 155mm – and will cost £350.
