The new Haul range is an e-bike here for ‘climbers or a creative direction, even a big family with a golden retriever’.
That’s according to Specialized that has created its Haul range of e-bikes to be Swiss Army-knife useful in a variety of situations. Designed to be comfortable and – more than anything – simple to use, the Haul is being pitched as a true alternative to a car.

It’s fair to say that it’s arrived with the right equipment. There’s a 772Wh battery for up to 60 miles of electric range, powered through a punchy 700W hub motor. Flat-out, that means a top speed of up to 28mph on the flat with five levels of pedal assist available.
The range kicks off with the Haul ST, which incorporates customisable t-rails so you can attach everything you need to the bike, as well as pannier mounts at the front and rear. There’s an extra seat and pegs so passengers can get comfy, too, and overall you’ve got a carrying capacity of up to 419 pounds – including the rider.

The Hual LT – which stands for Long Tail – is an even more versatile version, packing the same features as the ST but with extended load-carrying ability. In fact, it takes that total carrying ability up to 441 pounds, while the rear rack is twice the size. There’s space for up to six panniers, while you can carry up to three – yes, three – passengers at a time. Adjustable cargo rails and full-length running boards make this one versatile cargo bike.
As you’d expect, there are boatloads of accessories to go along with both bikes, while Thule’s Yepp and Burly Dash child seats can be clicked in a breeze.
