Hoka has introduced an evolution of its trademark Clifton runner with a new Pro model.
The Clifton has been a part of the Hoka line-up since 2014, bringing a highly cushioned design that allowed runners to go further for longer. Now with the new Pro model, Hoka says that it has created a ‘more progressive build designed for runners focused on performance outcomes’.

It’s headed up by the introduction of new Proglide+ technology, which combines SCF foam with Hoka’s MetaRocker design to create a ‘rolling’ experience as you run. Hoka says that it should help absorb impacts while pushing runners forward in their strides.
Priced at £150 and weighing in at 296g for a men’s size 10 or 242g for a women’s size 8, the Clifton Pro also gets a durable rubber outsole and reflective elements to help when running in the dark or during low-light conditions.

Colin Ingram, global vice president, footwear, at Hoka, said: “Since the Clifton first launched, it has continually set the standard for what runners expect from a daily trainer.
With the Clifton PRO, we wanted to take that trusted foundation and push it further for athletes who are relentlessly chasing progress. Debuting with our new PROGLIDE + system for a smoother, more dynamic ride, we’ve optimised a trainer that helps serious runners have that competitive advantage that unlocks breakthroughs run after run.”
It’s also available in a good range of colours, including a mix of olive and grey, navy and black and black and ‘cosmic’ purple.
