The very best adventure gear taken to the most amazing of places

Côte&ciel has launched a reworked version of Merrell 1TRL’s iconic Hut Moc 2 slip-on shoes.

Launching on June 27 via the côte&ciel websites and the brand’s stores – or on June 30 on Merrell’s website and selected retailers – the Hut Moc 2 gets the lightweight, slip-on design as the standard shoe but with a variety of choice upgrades.

Drawing inspiration from ‘the cloud formations surrounding Mt. Fuji’, côte&ciel has used an upper crafted from two twisted and folded fabric panels which spiral around the foot. There’s then a neoprene sock insert to create a snug, form-holding fit that provides extra support when tackling more difficult terrain.

Available in black and khaki colourways, the Hut Moc 2 has been designed for ‘campsite trails, urban sidewalks, or the still spaces we call home’, so it should, in theory, be great to wear no matter where you’re heading.

As with the regular Hut Moc 2, it appears that these special edition versions get a chunky, go-anywhere sole designed to offer plenty of traction across a variety of surfaces.

The Paris-based firm, which was founded in 2008, has always played with shapes and forms through its models with its current range focusing on backpacks, crossbody bags and accessories.
