Yeti has added a new, more everyday-focused backpack to its current range – the Ranchero.
Whereas Yeti’s wider range of backpacks and luggage has been designed primarily for use in the great outdoors, the Ranchero differs by having a greater number of features that could help to it to prove useful in the urban jungle instead.

Available in 27- and 22-litre capacities, the Ranchero uses a clever ‘RipZip’ central opening which allows for quick and easy access to the main compartment. It’s all crafted in Yeti’s TuffSkin Nylon material, which should prove hard-wearing, while a GroundControl base means you won’t have to worry about putting the backpack down when you need to stop.
Equipped with ‘Hydration Holsters’ for water bottles and a laptop or tablet sleeve (on larger 27-litre versions), the Ranchero is being pitched by Yeti as an ‘everyday gear hub’. Plus, it incorporates adjustable shoulder straps for added comfort and a chest strap to help spread the weight of the backpack when you’re on those longer adventures.
The 27-litre version has an empty weight of just 1.72kg, too, putting it at the lighter end of the backpack spectrum. Its compact proportions mean it should meet most carry-on airline requirements, too.

At present, the Ranchero is available in two ‘core’ colours – Black and Olive – while a limited edition ‘Dark Cape Taupe’ shade is also available, though there’s no confirmation from Yeti about how long this colourway will be available for.
The new Yeti Ranchero is priced at £225 for the 22-litre version or £275 for the larger 27-litre model. Both are available via the Yeti website now.
